It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the new Battersea Park School web-site.
I was appointed to lead Battersea Technology School in September 2001. It is with a sense of pride in the achievements of students and the commitment and dedication of staff that I lead the School forward to greater successes. The School changed its name to Battersea Park School on 1st September 2008 following its success in becoming a Specialist Performing Arts School.
Between 2004 and 2007 our examination results put us in the top 1% of most improved schools in the country, and the value that we add to students progress and attainment puts us in the top 5% of all schools nationally. We truly believe that education is the key to success and so we are focused on high standards between 2009/10. These however apply to all aspects of learning, from behaviour to external visits and social events. To enhance the learning of students in different contexts we expect each student to attend at least 2 Outward Bound residential visits whilst at Battersea Park School. We will be applying for International School Status in 2010 to mark our links with schools in Holland, Italy, Sweden and China.
At BPS our students are very fortunate to be sponsored by Deutsche Bank to attend Outward Bound courses at Aberdovey in the North of Wales and at Lake Ullswater in the Lake District.
Every year group in our school get the opportunity to go on a 5-day trip to experience education in the outdoors!

During these trips, our students get the chance to take part in activities they would never otherwise get to do like abseiling, rock climbing, canoeing. They even get to go on an overnight expedition where they have to complete a 6 mile hike to the top of one of the mountains in the area, put up their tents and prepare their own food!
