BULLYING
How to tackle it

We believe that all students have the right to the highest quality education.  In order to achieve this they have the right to come to School and feel safe and protected.  This means that we will not tolerate disrespectful, unkind behaviour or bullying.

This booklet is set out to ensure that all students understand what to do if they are bullied and the responsibilities all students have when they see others being bullied.

The School Council held a meeting and students suggested some ideas for anyone who is being bullied.

This is how teachers can make you feel safe:

  • They can give advice
  • They can keep talking about bullying at assembly, registration and during PHSE lessons.

This is how students can make other students feel safe:

  • They can help / befriend them.
  • They can form a support group.
  • They can inform teachers.
  • They can stick up for bullied students.
  • They can tell a Sixth Form buddy or Sixth Former
  • Learning Mentor (Teus Young or Leilanie Cesnik).

This is where students can go to feel safe:

  • To Teachers
  • To Tutors/Co-Tutors
  • To Mr Keller
  • To Parents
  • To the Library
  • To the School Nurse
  • To the Prefects room
  • Learning Mentors
  • To anyone else they trust
  • Connexions

If you really don’t want to talk to someone about what is happening to you, you can always use the ‘Speak Out Box’ in the library.  The ‘Don’t be a victim’ forms are in the library next to the box.
