Governers
Battersea Park School is a Foundation School and the Governing Body of the school is established by the local education authority under the Instrument of Government for Foundation Schools. The Governing Body was set up on the 1st January 2009 and comprises twenty governors. These governors represent all the people who have an interest in the school. There are six parent governors, four Local Authority governors, four staff governors, four community governors and two partnership governors. The names of the governors and the categories which they represent are as follows:
The full governing body meets once every term and sub-committees have been set up to manage different aspects of the school; for instance there is finance and premises sub-committee which manages the budget and is responsible the physical fabric of the school. The performance and standards sub-committee is responsible for the achievement and attainment of the pupils at the school. These sub-committees also meet once a term.
One of the other sub-committees is the Vision committee and the Headteacher and members of the Leadership Team regularly present their views to this committee. We fully share in their vision for the school which is encapsulated in our vision statement,” Building a community where learning is for everyone.” We hope that you share our vision and if you would like to help us you might like know that vacancies for governors arise from time to time. In addition we are always available to parents and pupils and indeed anybody else involved in the life of the school. We can be contacted through the school office via Shannon Beasley, PA to the Headteacher at the school.
