Subject: AS and A level PhysicsNumber of lesson per fortnight: 10 The Science Department are pleased to offer students the above qualification. An AS level will be achieved in Year 12 and the A level qualification in Year 13. A Level Physics has been developed for students who wish to continue with a study of Physics after GCSE. Some students may wish to follow a Physics course for only one year as an AS Level, in order to broaden their curriculum. Others will continue their course for a further year extending their course to A Level. Such a course will prepare students to progress into further education, to follow courses in Physics, Engineering, one of the other sciences or related subjects, or to enter employment where a knowledge of physics would be useful. Assessment for the AS level takes the form of two written examinations and an internally assessed practical task. Assessment for the A level involves a further two written examinations and another internally assessed practical task. This is an enjoyable but demanding course that will require a huge amount of dedication, independent study and revision. Contact: Mr Caddis, Mr Beavis |
