ASDAN LEVEL 3 – AS LEVEL

Number of lessons per fortnight: 5

Course Description

This course encourages students to undertake independent research and learning over six modules.

The aim of the course is to provide a way in which students can gain accreditation for enrichment and study activities;

Enable students to develop and demonstrate a range of skills, which will support future study or work.

The course takes place over two years during which time the students will work on the following units:

Active Citizenship

Work Related Activities

Career Planning

Global Awareness

Enrichment Activities

Extended Project.

Assessment

Assessment is through external moderation of a portfolio of work produced by the students. The significance of meeting the specific assessment requirements for COPE (ASDAN) is that this is a QCA approved qualification, which carried the same status as a high grade AS level and is, on successful completion, awarded 70 points in the UCAS tariff.
