Subject: GCSE Film StudiesNumber of lessons per fortnight: 5 What is GCSE Film Studies? GCSE Film Studies is a course which allows students to explore film as an art form, as a cultural phenomenon, as a means of communication and as an industry. The course requires students to analyse the micro features of individual films, understand the cultural and industrial forces which drive the movie industry and to explore the relationship between audiences and cinema. Students will be expected to attend some lunchtime Film Club screenings in order to gain a wider understanding of the material ready for examination. What units will I study?
