Art & Design Numbers of lessons per fortnight: 5+2(after school)Textile Design GCSE is made up of two units. One Unit is internally set and is made up of a number of mini projects; the other is externally set and has a 10hour exam at the end of year 11. The four keywords in the Learning Objectivesthat students must always refer to in practice are:
Curriculum:Over the two year course, Textiles students will have the opportunity to work in a variety of ways and with a great selection of specialist equipment. These include:
Unit 1:This unit will be made up of 4/5 mini/sub projects. The titles/themes of these can change year to year. This year students are working under the themes of:
Unit 2:An externally set assignment that students will begin work on in the February of the second year and this concludes with a ten hour exam. Assessment:Self/Peer/Teacher Assessment plays a big part in the course. Both units are internally assessed and externally moderated. The course is made up of several assessment techniques, ending with a formal 10 hour exam in June of the second year. Homework:Students will be set homework that consolidates learning and allows students to develop skill sand become more independent learners. Art clubs:In order to allow students to complete the course to the best of their ability. 1 x 2 hour session will be added after school for all textile students Art Trips:All students will go on at least two, course related/ gallery trips over two years. Students will also have the opportunity to work with a specialist in the field. Art Exhibition:At the end of year 11 students will organise an exhibition to show their work Contact:Miss Sangha
