Battersea Technology College changed its name to Battersea Park School on 1st September 2008 following its success in becoming a Specialist Performing Arts School. Between 2004 and 2007 our examination results put us in the top 1% of most improved schools in the country, and the value that we add to students progress and attainment puts us in the top 5% of all schools nationally. We truly believe that education is the key to success and so we are focused on high standards between 2009/10. These however apply to all aspects of learning, from behaviour to external visits and social events. To enhance the learning of students in different contexts we expect each student to attend at least 2 Outward Bound residential visits whilst at Battersea Park School. We will be applying for International School Status in 2010 to mark our links with schools in Holland, Italy, Sweden and China.
In July 2007 we were proud to be presented with a Healthy Schools Award for the school meals, sporting activities and ensuring the health, safety and well being of students and staff. We were also presented with the Sportsmark Award for exceptional delivery within the National Sports Strategy.
We are proud of our sporting links and in 2009 played Eton, Harrow, Charterhouse and Millfield Schools,
Our School productions in Drama, Dance and Music are always well received in the local community. The annual Art Exhibition also receives acclaim.
We were designated a Specialist School for Performing Arts in September 2007, and this is supporting us in raising standards still further.
Battersea Park School is therefore first and foremost a School where the education of your sons and daughters is our priority.
We encourage every student to achieve his or her very best in everything they undertake. We value the contribution of every individual student and seek to enable each to fulfil their potential academically as well as exploring skills, abilities and aptitudes both within the classroom and beyond it. To this end, I am committed to continuing to build on and develop the School’s current successes and to ensuring that our students are motivated and work hard to achieve their potential.
We became a Foundation School on 1st January 2009.
In 2009 the School received 2 awards from The Specialist Schools and Academies Trust for GCSE results.
